FIELD TRIPS - 3RD SUNDAY OF EACH MONTH
10:00 AM UNTIL 2:00 PM

Our field trips are available year-round, offering you the opportunity to observe and experience ecosystems. Traveling as a group provides students with the chance to interact and bond with our volunteers, tour guides, and each other, helping to establish a supportive community system. Field trips take place rain or shine and include a snack and a journal. Please bring your own pen or pencil.

The prices for each field trip are as follows: $3.00 per student, $6.50 for adults, and $5.00 for seniors (55 and over).

KUBOTA GARDEN

Public Park

Field trips feature streams, waterfalls, ponds, rock outcroppings, and an exceptionally rich and mature collection of plant material. Students will learn about the history of the garden, identify some of the important physical features of the garden, and learn to appreciate and protect nature. For more information, visit

SEATTLE JAPANESE GARDEN

IMG-4852-Original.jpg

This garden invites our students to journey through the varied landscapes of Japan — mountains, forests, waterfalls, rivers, lakes, islands, and the sea. Along the journey, students will read haiku, a playful way of learning how to hear the syllables within a word, breaking down words into smaller and smaller chunks. This will help students to see the patterns within language and improve skills in 'sounding out' words. Writing a haiku of their own doesn't take long. For more information, visit
